BIOGRAPHY

Maria de Freitas was born in Lisbon in 1959 under the sign of aries.
Tile-painter, formed at the Decorative Art School António Arroio. Tap dancer with Michel de Roubaix and Mónica Lapa for various years with studies in Paris and New York.
She did model drawing at the National Society of Fine Arts
and with the sculptor Soares Branco.
Studied painting at the Arteilimitada School, she also attends several artists' studios in Lisbon.
She worked on projects for the artists:
José Romualdo, Soares Branco, Serrão de Faria and Paulo Guilherme d´Eça Leal. For SIVA, and KIA, she worked in tiles support and for Volkswagen, in large acrylic canvas, alive, in the Automobile Salon at FIL.
Worked as curator for Hotel Convento de São Paulo in art events 2011/2017 and museum director at the Henrique Leote Foundation, in Redondo, Alentejo, between 2012/2017.
In 2010 she created the performance " Voyeur de Atelier ".
An action painting, drawing, dance and tap dance, a theatrical piece with the ballerina Catarina Ascensão. It was presented
at Casa dos Dias de Água, at Paula Cabral Galery in Príncipe Real,
at the Utopia Art Prize in Amadora and in the Bookshop Ler Devagar in LX Factory 2010/2011.
In tile painting, she made a Cobalt Blue Panel with 629x742inches (12 X 16 meters), for headquarters building interior of the company Sousa Pedro Comercial, in Albarraque, Sintra, 1995.
She participated in several group and individual exhibitions,
and we highlight: Lazuli Dance, painting and drawing at the Verney Gallery, Oeiras 2016.
